Eastern
Island it's located on the southern hemisphere , between 27 08' of
South latitude and 109 26' west longitude, as opposed to the coast
from Chile to the height of the city of Caldera, to one distances
approximate of 3760 kms to the west of the continent.
With a surface of 166 kms2, has a triangular form with volcanos Rano-A-Roi,
Rano Kau and Puakatiki in each one of its vertices respectively.
Located in the middle of the South Pacific Ocean, Eastern Island is
the continental territories island more moved away of the world, being
able to arrive at her by air or sea. In order to arrive by air the
only way it is through LAN CHILE, that makes flights from Chile and
Tahiti. |

Many
stores or restaurants don't receive credit cards. The hotels normally
accept VISA or AMEX from USS 50. The local bank, Banco Estado, allow
to retire 200,000 pesos Chilean per day with card VISA. The bank also
changes Traveller Checks into U.S. Dollars, those can be used in the
island, but receiving commission. Other currencies cannot be changed,
in the island there«s not money exchange hoses. |
